Drafts for the 13 trade desks. Ship only if Layer A clears 70 and the Truth, Value and Stance floors hold.

Twelve drafts cleared the gate. Three desks stay dark.

The five assigned pieces are written from the company, EPA, SEC and city primaries. Seven more desks had a document worth a story. Second Billing, Land Lease Report and Car Wash Wire do not: a street date Arrow did not print, a rent cap the city packet and KVCR disagree on, and no new car-wash filing.

Layer A is scored out of 100. The floor is 70. Truth must hit 14/20, Value 14/20, Stance 12/16. A miss on a master is a hold even if the total clears.

United Steelworkers Local 7619 walked off Teck’s Highland Valley Copper operation on Saturday. Teck confirmed the strike and said production depends on how long it lasts. The company did not say how much copper is coming out.

Our read. Teck has confirmed the labour action and has not quantified it. Headcount and the size of the strike vote are other outlets’ reporting, not Teck’s. This is the labour fact at that mine, not a second merger analysis.

The waiver this desk reported as ending October 24 was renewed on October 20. The new letter is effective October 25 through November 13, Texas only, diesel up to 500 ppm sulfur, and only for engines originally certified for that fuel.

Our read. The EPA page is still the primary record. The October 18 story on this desk stopped at the first 20-day window. The October 20 letter is a new window, not an automatic extension, and EPA’s line that it intends to renew again is not itself a further waiver.

Same-store revenue and net operating income each rose 0.5%. Direct NOI did not. Public Storage Canada closed September 1. Extra Space had not printed when this was filed, so this is one company’s quarter, not a three-REIT comparison.

Our read. Same-store operations barely moved. The drop in net income per share sits next to a $114.6 million transaction-and-integration line that was zero a year earlier, and higher depreciation. Core FFO, which the company says excludes those costs, is the figure it raised guidance on. The Canada close is in the same release. Extra Space’s print was still ahead, so the pools are not compared here.

Sherritt says the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control licensed fuel, fuel oil and sulfur into Moa Nickel. The company calls this the first of a series. Restart of mining, processing and the Fort Saskatchewan refinery still needs another licence.

Our read. Sherritt’s own description is narrower than some wire headlines. The licence is for fuel into Moa. The restart, and refining in Alberta, are still subject to a second emergency licence the company says it does not have.

Both partners released a final investment decision on October 21. First production is targeted for the second half of 2029. Initial growth capital is $2.07 billion. The longer mine life needs federal permits that are not in the base case.

Our read. This is a construction decision, not a production start. The returns are the study’s, at the study’s long-term copper price. Hudbay’s own cheque is the smaller, later number in the same release. The 37-year case is optional and permitted later.
